Recipe: Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken
  • Your favorite dry rub or seasoning blend
  • 1 can of beer (any variety)
  • Olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the giblets from the chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Rub the chicken generously with olive oil, then season all over with your chosen dry rub or seasoning blend.
  3. Open the can of beer and take a few sips (or pour out a small amount). Place the beer can on a stable surface, then carefully lower the chicken onto the can, so it stands upright with the beer can inserted into the cavity.
  4. Place the beer can chicken on the grill, standing upright with the legs down. Close the lid and cook for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165ยฐF (75ยฐC) in the thickest part of the thigh.
  5. Carefully remove the beer can chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before carving. Serve hot and enjoy!
